Hi Shelly

Pregnancy is a demanding situation for the mother’s body. Even after delivery, there are several changes that happen in her body. One such event is postpartum urinary incontinence or leak. It is fairly normal, and usually goes away in a few weeks or a few months.

These are a few steps to regain bladder control faster:

  • Kegel exercises
  • Train your bladder- urinate every 30 minutes before you have the urge
  • Increase the fibre intake
  • Drink enough fluids, and taper it off towards bedtime
  • Reduce coffee, tomatoes, soft drinks and alcohol
  • Use a postpartum sanitary napkin
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Stop smoking
